MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING BOARD OF EDUCATION SCHOOL DIST #9

Potter-Dix Public School February 11, 2010 6:00pm

The Board of Education of District #9, Potter-Dix Public School, Potter, Nebraska, met in regular session with President Jerome Frei presiding. Also present were Tim Maas, Staci Magninie, Vern Nelson, Claire Smith, Principal Bryce Jorgenson, Superintendent Kevin Thomas and Recording Secretary Marlene Slama. Member Larry Miller was absent and excused by President Frei.

Moved by Magninie and seconded by Nelson to approve the minutes, as published, of the January 14, 2010, Regular Board Meeting. Carried 5-0.

Moved by Nelson and seconded by Smith to approve the agenda, as submitted, for the February 11, 2010, Regular Board Meeting. Carried 5-0.

Moved by Smith and seconded by Magninie to approve the changes for Prom Royalty selection as submitted by Mr. Jorgenson. Carried 5-0.

Moved by Magninie and seconded by Maas to pay monthly bills & payroll amounting to $248,688.63. Carried 5-0.

Moved by Maas and seconded by Smith to recognize the 7-12 “Star” Students of the Month for January: Senior-Jeremy Gasseling, Junior-Emily Moser, Sophomore-Dustin Brown, Freshman-Amanda Maas, 8^th Grade-Tiffany Lewis, 7^th Grade-Cameron Purcell and K-6 “Pawsitive” Students of the Month for January: 6^th Grade-Christina Straetker, 5^th Grade-Noah Nelson, 4^th Grade-Cash Yearous, 3^rd Grade-Xavier Runge, 2^nd Grade-Kyleen Koon, 1^st Grade-Jaron Anderson, Kindergarten-Jared Anton. Carried 5-0.

Moved by Maas and seconded by Nelson to invest the maximum amount with the Potter State Bank for 30 days at the current interest rate. Carried 5-0.

Moved by Magninie and seconded by Maas to ratify the 2009-2010 Master Contract between School District #9 and the Potter-Dix Education Association. Carried 5-0.

Moved by Smith and seconded by Magninie to recognize the Potter-Dix Education Association as the sole negotiating body for the teaching staff.

Meeting adjourned at 7:42pm.
